Selectividad

Assessment Practice

Selectividad is the traditional name for Spain's university entrance examination, formally the Evaluacion de Bachillerato para el Acceso a la Universidad (EBAU or EvAU) after a 2017 reform, taken by students completing the Bachillerato, Spain's upper secondary school stage. Combined with a student's Bachillerato grades to produce an admission score, it determines access to Spanish public universities and, for competitive degree programs, the specific institution a student can enter.

FAQs

How is the final Selectividad mark worked out?

The common part gives an average of up to 10 points and each university sets its own weighting for the specific part.

In the form used since 2010, the final mark is no longer the average score of the six exams taken. The four marks from the common part are averaged to give a score of up to 10 points, and each university then establishes its own parameters for the other subjects taken in the specific part.
