Progressive Education Reformers

American educators and philosophers who argued that schools should serve democracy and the whole child, and who led the progressive school movement. A person belongs here when the cited article names the progressive education movement or calls the person an educational reformer or progressive school pioneer. It excludes critical pedagogy theorists and classical philosophers, who sit in their own groups. Their ideas shaped learning by doing, the child-centered classroom and the school as a community.
