Learning and Cognitive Theorists

American psychologist and the leading exponent of behaviorism, holding that behavior should be explained by observable responses to environmental stimuli rather than by inferred mental states. His operant-conditioning research, conducted largely at Harvard, underlies behaviourist approaches to classroom management and programmed instruction.
