All Historical Educational Treatises

A historical written work whose own subject is the theory or practice of education, read and cited today as a primary text in the history of educational thought rather than as a modern research theory. This group currently holds Jean-Jacques Rousseau's 1762 Emile, or On Education, which Rousseau himself considered his most important work and which set out an influential account of childhood development and naturalistic upbringing; further primary educational treatises this atlas mints later belong in this same group, rather than folded into the general Philosophy of Education Concepts group, which covers concepts and named traditions rather than a specific authored historical text.
