Kothari Commission Report

Government Report

The Kothari Commission Report, published in 1966 by the Indian government's Education Commission chaired by the physicist D.S. Kothari, was a comprehensive review of education in India covering all levels from primary school to higher education. Its recommendations, including a common structure of schooling and greater investment in education as a share of national income, formed the basis for India's first National Policy on Education, adopted in 1968.
