Nanjing University is a public university in Nanjing and Suzhou, Jiangsu, China, affiliated and sponsored by the Ministry of Education. It was established in 1902 as Sanjiang Normal School and underwent a number of name changes before being renamed Nanjing University in 1950. It merged with the University of Nanking in 1952.
