All Learning Theory Paradigms

Learning Theory Paradigms groups the broad psychological accounts of how learning itself happens, the paradigm level of pedagogy rather than any one classroom technique built on it. Belongs here: Behaviourism, which explains learning through observable responses to stimuli and reinforcement; Cognitivism, which explains learning through internal information processing; Constructivism, which holds that learners actively build their own understanding; and Humanism, which centers motivation, relationships and personal growth. Does not belong here: a specific classroom technique or named school built on one of these paradigms, such as Direct Instruction, which is a behaviorist-influenced method grouped under Named Pedagogical Models and Movements, or Cooperative Learning, a technique grouped under Active and Experiential Learning Strategies.
