Certified Financial Planner (CFP)

Certified Financial Planner, or CFP, is a professional certification for financial planners administered in the United States by the CFP Board, a non-profit organisation established in 1985, and by twenty five affiliated national bodies elsewhere in the world through the Financial Planning Standards Board. Candidates must satisfy education, examination, experience and ethics requirements, including coverage of roughly one hundred financial planning topics and a six hour, one hundred and seventy question computer based examination, and must complete thirty hours of continuing education, including two hours on ethics, at every renewal. More than two hundred and thirty thousand people hold the certification worldwide.
