Project Management Professional (PMP)

The Project Management Professional, or PMP, is an internationally recognised project management certification awarded by the Project Management Institute. Candidates qualify through one of two tracks, either a bachelor's degree plus thirty six months of project leadership experience or a high school diploma plus sixty months of such experience, in both cases alongside thirty five hours of formal project management training, before sitting a one hundred and eighty question multiple choice examination administered at Pearson VUE test centres worldwide. By mid 2020 more than a million professionals across two hundred and fourteen countries and territories held an active PMP credential, which must be renewed every three years through sixty professional development units.
