Chartered Accountant (CA)

Professional and Industry Certifications

Chartered Accountant, or CA, is a professional accounting designation that traces to the world's first professional body of accountants, chartered in Scotland in 1854. It is now awarded by national institutes across more than a dozen countries, coordinated internationally through Chartered Accountants Worldwide, which today counts over 1.8 million members and students across some 190 countries. Earning the designation typically requires an undergraduate degree, a set of professional examinations and two to three years of supervised articled training in auditing, taxation, financial management or business advisory work, followed by ongoing continuing professional development.
