Real Estate License

A real estate license is the government issued authorisation that allows an agent or broker to legally represent a buyer or seller in a property transaction. In the United States, where the credential is best documented, each state sets its own pre-licensing education requirements and administers its own examination, and licence holders must typically complete continuing education roughly every two years to keep the licence active. Reciprocity agreements allow some licence holders to practise across state lines, though the underlying requirements still vary considerably from state to state.
