All State Standards Initiative

State Standards Initiative groups documents that set shared academic content and performance standards adopted by American states, separate from a federal statute or a testing program. Belongs here: a standards document such as the Common Core State Standards, adopted voluntarily by most states to define what students should know at each grade level in mathematics and English language arts. Does not belong here: a federal law that conditions funding on standards or accountability, grouped under US Federal Legislation, and a testing program that measures against a standard rather than defining one.
