Graham James Hitch is an English psychologist and emeritus professor of psychology at the University of York, best known for his work with Alan Baddeley in developing a Working Memory Model. Baddeley and Hitch proposed their three-part working memory model in 1974 as a more accurate account of primary memory, often referred to as short-term memory, and as an alternative to the short-term store in the multi-store memory model of Atkinson and Shiffrin from 1968.
