Progressive and Child-Centered Education Models

Models of schooling that follow the interests of the child, including progressive education, student-centered learning, emergent curriculum, minimally invasive education, the Quincy Method and individual education. A model belongs here when the cited article defines it as child-centered, progressive or built on learners' own interests. It excludes constructivist theories and inquiry approaches, which sit in their own groups. Teachers draw on these models when they plan lessons around children's questions rather than a fixed sequence of topics.
