Scheme of Work

Instructional Design and Curriculum Frameworks

A scheme of work is a plan that lays out all the learning to be covered over a given period, usually a term or a full school year, defining the structure and content of a course. It breaks a multi-year curriculum down into units spanning several weeks, which are further divided into individual teachable topics, and a well designed scheme also specifies how resources, classroom activities, and assessment methods will be used to teach each topic and track student progress.
