John Wilkinson Taylor was an American educator, born on September 26, 1906, who died on December 11, 2001, at the age of 95. He served as President of the University of Louisville from 1947 to 1950. He then held an international post as the acting director general of UNESCO between 1952 and 1953, taking over after the resignation of Jaime Torres Bodet. The English Wikipedia lead is brief, so his earlier career, his work in Louisville and his other contributions to education are left to deeper sources rather than guessed here.
