The vestibular is the entrance examination historically used by Brazilian universities, particularly public universities, to select students for admission to specific degree programs. Administered independently by individual institutions or groups of institutions, it has traditionally been a highly competitive, subject-based examination, though its role has been increasingly supplemented or replaced at many universities by the national Exame Nacional do Ensino Medio (ENEM) since ENEM began serving as a common admissions instrument.
