Jomtien Declaration (World Declaration on Education for All)

The Jomtien Declaration, formally the World Declaration on Education for All, was adopted at the World Conference on Education for All held in Jomtien, Thailand, in 1990, convened by UNESCO, UNICEF, the World Bank and other international bodies. It committed signatory governments to expanding access to basic education and reducing illiteracy worldwide, and it launched the Education for All movement that later international frameworks, including the Dakar Framework for Action and the Sustainable Development Goals, continued and revised.
