Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), or the Education for All Movement, was a flagship program of the Government of India launched in 2001 to universalize elementary education, following India's 2002 constitutional amendment making free and compulsory education a fundamental right for children aged 6 to 14. It funded the construction of new schools, recruitment and training of teachers, and interventions aimed at out-of-school children, and was later merged with other schemes into the broader Samagra Shiksha program in 2018.
