Graduate and Postgraduate Academic Degrees groups tertiary academic qualifications earned after an undergraduate degree, roughly ISCED levels 7 through 8 (master's and doctoral or equivalent level) in the UNESCO International Standard Classification of Education, awarded for advanced graduate study or research. Belongs here: the Master's Degree in general and its named variant the Master of Business Administration (MBA), the Postgraduate Diploma, the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), the Habilitation and the Licentiate. Does not belong here: an undergraduate degree, grouped under Undergraduate Academic Degrees, and a professional doctorate that also functions as a license to practice a regulated occupation, such as the Doctor of Medicine or the Juris Doctor, grouped under Professional Doctorates and Practice Licenses because the license-to-practice function, not the degree format, is the deciding fact for that group.
