Groups named academic and professional credentials awarded on completion of a defined course of study: degrees such as the bachelor's, master's and doctorate, school-leaving and secondary certificates such as the GCSE or the International Baccalaureate diploma, and vocational or professional certifications tied to formal education. Belongs here: a specific, named qualification, credential, degree or certificate that a learner earns and that is formally recognized within one or more educational systems. Does not belong here: the teaching methods used to prepare learners (Pedagogical Approaches), the theories of how learning happens (Learning Theory and Concepts), the schools, universities and systems that award qualifications (Institutions and Systems), and the assessment and policy frameworks that govern how qualifications are earned, unless the entity itself is a specific named qualification (Curriculum, Assessment and Policy).
