Deeper Learning

In United States education, deeper learning is a set of student educational outcomes that include the acquisition of robust core academic content, higher-order thinking skills, and learning dispositions. It rests on the premise that changing work, civic and everyday life increasingly require young people to master skills such as analytic reasoning, complex problem solving and teamwork, and it is associated with a growing movement in American education that emphasizes applying knowledge to real-world circumstances and solving novel problems. A number of United States schools and school districts across a broad socio-economic range have adopted deeper learning as a core part of their instructional approach.
