Winchester College is an English public school for pupils aged 13 to 18 in Winchester, Hampshire. It was founded by William of Wykeham in 1382 as a feeder school for New College, Oxford, and has operated continuously on its present site ever since, making it the oldest of the nine public schools investigated by the Clarendon Commission. The school was founded to provide an education for 70 scholars alongside a choir of 16 quiristers, and it was historically a boys' boarding school until it began accepting both male and female day pupils into its sixth form from September 2022.
