Amelia Minerva Starkweather (1840 to 1926) was an American educator and author who spent her life in philanthropic and charitable work. Alongside her teaching career she worked as a traveling financial agent for a children's home and an old people's home, served as superintendent of a Sunday school with 400 students, gave lectures and took part in evangelistic meetings. She wrote many hymns that appeared in Sunday school song books and temperance songs set to music by Edna G. Young. Her writing also included a children's book, Tomtits and Other Bits, and a volume of poems, Leaves from the City Beautiful.
