Carol Dweck is an American social and developmental psychologist, the Lewis and Virginia Eaton Professor of Psychology at Stanford University since 2004, after faculty positions at the University of Illinois, Harvard University and Columbia University. Her research on people's implicit theories of their own intelligence led to the growth mindset framework, popularized in her 2006 book Mindset: The New Psychology of Success, which has shaped educational practice worldwide even as later attempts to replicate its classroom effects have had mixed results.
