Jonathan Kozol

Jonathan Kozol (born 1936) is an American writer, progressive activist and educator best known for his books documenting inequality in American public education, including his accounts of Boston schools and of resource gaps between wealthy and poor school districts. A Harvard graduate who was later a Rhodes Scholar candidate at Oxford, he began his career teaching in the Boston public schools before turning to writing and advocacy that focused sustained public attention on educational inequality.
