Indian Institute of Technology Delhi

The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is a public institute of technology located in Delhi, India, with a satellite campus in Sonipat, Haryana, and an international campus in Abu Dhabi, UAE. It is one of 23 Indian Institutes of Technology created as centres of excellence for the country's training, research and development in science, engineering and technology, and was declared an Institution of Eminence in 2018. Established in 1961 and formally inaugurated that August by Humayun Kabir, then Minister of Scientific Research and Cultural Affairs, the institute was later decreed an Institute of National Importance under the Institutes of Technology Amendment Act, 1963, and given full university status with power to set its own academic policy, conduct examinations and award degrees.
