Tutor Systems

Instructional Design and Curriculum Frameworks

Tutor Systems is an Australian self-checking educational learning tool that lets students verify the accuracy of their own answers without a teacher. It is used with a workbook, a plastic tray with numbered depressions, and a set of numbered tiles: students work through tasks in the workbook and place tiles into the tray to match their answers, then flip the tray over, where the pattern on the back of the tiles forms a picture only if every answer was correct. Tutor Systems is the English-language version of the German LUK system (an acronym for learn, practice, check), and it is used in classrooms from preschool through university level in a number of countries.
