Aaron Doering

Aaron Doering is an American educational technology researcher at the University of Minnesota, where he directs the Learning Technologies Media Lab. He is known for designing adventure learning, a model that brings real-world exploration into classrooms through online curricula tied to expeditions in remote environments. Doering co-created the GoNorth series of Arctic and other adventure learning programs, which paired scientists and explorers with K-12 students to teach geography, climate science, and indigenous culture through interactive, inquiry-based online materials. His research examines how authentic, technology-mediated experiences can motivate student engagement and support online and blended learning design in K-12 and higher education settings.
