American chemistry teacher who, with colleague Aaron Sams at Woodland Park High School in Colorado, began recording lectures for students to watch outside class starting in the 2007-08 school year, freeing class time for guided practice and application. Bergmann and Sams later founded the Flipped Learning Network to promote the model and co-authored its defining text.
